yeah - thanks for posting, i found it when i knew about it

if i had known about it before, i wouldnt have dreamed of rooting it,.... (battery is still a bit dodgy though, hopefully a few charging cycles should sort it out)

See! Now if you'd read the user guide you'd have known about that & more!

Owners manuals & user guides aren't the most exciting reads but do contain tons of useful info.

Agreed. I haven't finished the T1's manual, but I learned a few things by reading it... even though I also own a PRS-600 and was familiar with the general interface. I love the ability to switch between dictionaries on the fly. It really helps when I'm reading a book written in the UK that uses language that isn't in the American dictionary.

It always amazed me that people would root it as soon as they had the T1 in their hands without trying out all the features it comes with. I never had any desire to root it.

The only change I made, was setting calibre up as per jackie_w's post to improve how the "Books" list is displayed.

I used this option for the plugboards.

I might like to root mine at some point, but, as you say, I ran it stock for a while, then loaded Morkl's home screen. If I could load an app or two without rooting, I'd probably be good.
