'Kindle Glow'. Nice ring to it

Am hoping for the new Kindle to be able to support JPEG images like the Nook.

I'm happy with my Kindle 3, so despite being vaguely interested, as I don't plan on buying it (HD screen, glowlight..... nothing much of interest for me), why one earth would I give a flying fig when the announcement is going to be?

I think you meant month? Which actually equates to about 15 illuminated reading hours on a charge, depending on page turns and as described on B&N:

Quote:
With GlowLight on at the default brightness setting, a single charge will last over 1 month with wireless off based on ½ hour of daily reading and a 1 page refresh per minute. A single charge lasts over 2 months with wireless off and GlowLight off based on ½ hour of daily reading time and 1 page refresh per minute. Battery life depends on device settings, usage, and many other factors. Battery tests conducted using specific units. Actual results may vary.

I care, but only because a friend of mine wants my advice on which kindle to purchase, and while she's leaning to the KNT (K4), if there's a glow version in the future, I think she might like that. Price is an object with her, however, so I suspect that the Kindle Glow will be too expensive for her purse.

Well, it would definitely put a stop to me staying up too late reading! A glowy Kindle would be cool. I actually think this is one boat that all serious ereader manufacturers need to jump on.

What's funny about these claims is how they moved the goal posts. In order to get the two month battery life, both Amazon and B&N dropped the reading time from one hour per day to a half hour per day. Then magically, battery life increased form one month to two months.

Kindles are only available in-store. They can't be ordered by staff.

And what serious reader reads only 30 minutes a day, unless they are forced to?
