Then this is new. I do see you can unlink. I wonder why they made the change. I know that if I log out and want to log in there are three choices. Buttons for logging in with FB/Twitter and the "normal" way of logging in with an email and password. I do it that way.

when I registered a few weeks ago I had to use FB to log in

As you mention, I used the unlink from FB within settings and it is now just a regular sign on, no link to FB anymore
