I use Kindle Touch for months now, after having used Kindle Keyboard. I prefered the holding and viewing of the Keyboard, but, as I've bought outside, not from Amazon, was not able to change. I just wouldn't like the Keyboard of the contemporary non-touch; I would choose Kindle Keyboard today.

Kindle Touch does not have a good holding position if you do not use two hands. There is too much shadow because of the depressed screen, as I always complained. At all, not the best read.

I would like to have a bezel on my iPad since I regularly turn the pages by mistake since thre is no tactile way so notice that your fingers drift onto the touch screen.

I occasionally notice the shadow from the KT's bezel, but it doesn't bother me because the shadow never hits the text. It's small enough that it stays in the margins.

Smoking near electronics is a very good way to damage them. Plus, they get so nastily grungy from the nicotine that repair personal will not fix them.

(Not sure what you mean: iPad has a bezel...)

I am surprised Apple hasn't made the iPad bezel touch sensitive as well, so that where a thumb overlaps the screen a bit, there would be a way to detect that, and ignore spurious touches. Or add touch gestures to the bezel so you could scroll or page without obstructing your view of the screen, etc.

I don't like the way the high bezel collects crud. KK did too but you could just wipe it off. With the touch screen you have to try blowing or failing that lock the screen (sometimes bringing up reading options lets you wipe the affected portion of the screen without locking).

But apart from that, I don't miss the physical keyboard at all, and find KT more ergonomic in general.

Of course I meant raised bezel or whatever it is called. Your idea about touch sensitivity outside the screen sound really good and would solve my problem.
