I only had one book I really wanted at Fictionwise - the newly released in e-book historical mystery by Roberta Gellis: Mortal Bane. Luckily I didn't have to wait too long before a good coupon came out!

https://store.fictionwise.com/ebooks/b133590/?si=0

I like this four-book series, set in 12th century London, with Magdalene la Batarde (great name) as the madam of a brothel, and a detective on the side.

I know Gellis is better known for other genres, but this little series is great if you like historical mysteries.

I hope this means the remaining three will be released as e-books soon also...

Just worked.

Is it just me, or is Fictionwise adding the new books for the week later and later in the day?

Thanks. One of these days I'm going to actually get around to reading all the Analogs/Asimov's SF magazines I keep getting with these coupons.

They no longer add any secure reader books. So I stopped looking at new additions.

I bought another book.

Secure eReader books is a very early DRM format that Fictionwise sells. the extension on the books are PDB. I believe that B&N used this format as a base for their DRM epubs. To open a Protected PDB you enter you name and credit card number just like you do for a Nook book.

Thanks to Calibre+plugins it's really easy to convert a Secure eReader to format of your choice. The format doesn't have indents so I usually add those.

I get most of my Harlequins from Fictionwise which are in that format. Now they stop adding them I will have to find a new source for new releases.
