If so, it has not been reported on this forum which leads me to think the answer is NO.

You should see Globe2Go ePaper and INQ Home Live running.

In terms of third party apps installed, there is:

Globe2Go ePaper
Merriam-Webster Dictionary
INQ (includes People)
Press Reader
Rdio
Scrabble Free
Zinio
(I think that Facebook and Twitter are just stubs).

Then there are the Google apps, which I consider third party and don't use (outside of the Play Store and the News and Weather widget):

Gmail
Google+
Latitude
Local
Maps (runs as a service)
Messenger
News & Weather
Play Books
Talk
YouTube

Looking at the above, there must be processes that are running but not listed because I use the News and Weather widget yet it isn't listed anywhere.

Coming from a place where the word "root" means either to have sexual intercourse with or to destroy, this thread raised an eyebrow.

as for the other, i do have them but dont care, I organise my home screens with the apps i use, everything else stays under all apps so is easy to ignore, they dont use up much space

My running services are (which use 93meg of RAM).

Facebook (I have the app)
System Update
Google Services
Maps x2
Android Keyboard

Kobo, Kindle & Aldiko appear in this list but disappear shortly after closing the app, same with other apps I use occasionally

I was thinking that there wasn't much regional about the Vox, but the Globe2Go should have been a dead giveaway.

Globe2Go looks to be part of the Globe and Mail e-Paper (G & M is a national, Canadian paper).

Is Rdio for the Canadian market only also?

Not sure why I dont have Scrabble, that would have been nice

Not sure on Rdio.

Scrabble ain't that special. You could download it from GetJar and it is a subscription based service (with no discount for Vox users), so there was really no point for including it from the end user's perspective.

Are you kidding me? The reason Kobo includes it out of the box is blatantly clear...their bottom line. They get money from Hasbro, Inc. for having it pre-installed. Simple as that.

Which is why I said "from the end user's perspective".

Judging from the permissions this program deserves to be classified as spyware. Why else does a game need permission to access to your address book or phone's state (e.g. phone number, who you are calling, etc.)? Thankfully the Vox isn't a phone so they can't learn to much there, but still! As a kicker, it even has permission to turn your Internet connection on ... so turning off your WiFi/3G isn't enough. Now I don't know if it does all of this stuff, but the fact that it has permission to is certainly suspicious.

So yeah, there is some stuff that I just want to remove on my Vox.

When you read the description of Scrabble for Android it's obvious why it needs those rights...

To bad for us that Kobo could care less about "the end user's perspective".

I live in Iowa, in the US, I have both Globe2Go and Rdio. The Scrable really bugs me, it takes up a good bit of memory and spelling is the only subject that I've ever flunked.
