Amazon has pretty much all the same books as all of the EPub stores combined. You lose nothing by having a Kindle over any of the other ePub readers. You gain excellent customer service.

If you live outside the USand you are thinking of using the library, I would look at the Sony. It has similar features to the Kindle and you will be able to get library books.
