A little extra info...Only things that have changed for me were an update, recently getting a Kindle Fire, and letting the battery run out on the Vizio. None of those should effect it. And when I finally booted up the kindle app, the even th Amazon purchases no longer showed up. When I downloaded a couple titles from the cloud they did not appear in the kindle folder where they used to be which is very odd. Even searching the title across the whole memory of the tablet turned up nothing.

Experimented and can download files to version 3.6 if I email them to my Kindle address. Won't be doing that because I've too many titles and this solution is aggravation. Still reverted to previous version 3.5.1

I've upgraded and can confirm the new update works on non Kindle content.

At some point I had a similar experience where the Kindle would not read non-kindle content for me. After some troubleshooting I tracked it down to the mdp files that are generated with the mobi files. A huge pain because that is where the annotations are kept.

What I did was to uninstall the kindle app, delete the kindle directory. Install the kindle app and only copy over the mobi files.


Not sure if that will fix your problem but worth a shot.

Fixed.

1. Coped all my kindle directory to my PC and deleted the files from my Samsung Galaxy
2. Upgraded to the new version of Kindle
3. Copied all the ebook files (.mobi) and covers back (JPEG) but not the annotation files (.MBP files)

Now works perfectly

importing books
is there any way to import books to the kindle app for android? I am running it on the google nexus 7 and have no problem trasfering my books into kobo but wanted to use kindle. Any suggestions?

Two ways:

1. Link your phone to your PC via USB and just copy .mobi files into the phones kindle directory
2. Install Calibre free software and download over WIFI (instructions given with Calibre software). Calibre will also convert epub files to mobi
