I think it's a directory/batch file location issue. (I'm just learning how to cope with Vista's nuances!!! !!!) More investigating is required, however, when the wife is shopping...

Just to stick my two cents in here... Impserve does work fine with Vista. I just tried it with a virtual Vista home edition install.
