The general public, for the most part, still doesn't understand what an ereader is. Kindle, Nook, iPad, etc., it's all the same for a lot of people.

So a simple message like "You can check out ebooks at the library" is news to many people. The technical details hardly matter. If that basic concept can get out there, it's a service.

I'm much more annoyed by the articles that talk about ereading, when the only device they've ever read on is an iPad.

I read the article. The point is that someone is informing others that it is possible to get free e-books from the local public library.

It is neither necessary nor common for a how-to article to cover ever possible scenario. It's entirely OK for someone to post an article describing a (not every) process for using a (not every) gadget.

This particular news item?? Definitely outdated and not all that useful, but not utterly ridiculous. Pretty much par for the course for any of the big boys, I'd say.

Yes, but for a brief moment, the Kindle was the only device able to borrow library books without needing a computer to download/transfer. Not true anymore of course, but I think "direct from the library" was the only point being addressed right there. But I won't pretend to speak for someone else.
I am sure others besides myself are in AWE at the lofty stratospheric despising position you have painstakingly ascended to.

You are correct on every point, but it would be nice if the article wasn't written to a third grade reading level and didn't contain obvious grammar and spelling errors that should have been corrected before publication.

Oh, no! It is just the usual noise from Fox detractors.

It might be of interest to some that Fox has 50% more viewers than MSNBC and CNN together.
Justin Beiber sold more records than Lou Reed, Tom Petty, & Bob Dylan combined last year. That don't make him more talented

Appreciate the concern. Totally unwarranted though as I of course had the foresight to prepare for the future before making the final painstaking ascent to my lofty, mountain despite respite. I even have fire. Stop in and thaw those frigid digits with a hot cup of cocoa anytime. I only avoid sycophants and hard-core detractors... not regular ol' humans.

Ah my friend. Remember it is all in the eyes of the beholder. If you stood in the street in front of the entrance to a Beiber concert, clad only in your sheet, wearing your long beard, holding high a placard proclaiming the above, you would soon be stampeded over by throngs of nubile young maids.

Of course that experience could be exciting for an old guy like me.

I prefer Dylan, Cash and Waylon myself, and I have substantial beard, but alas no spare sheet.
