My Kindles are doing fine as are my Sonys. I carry them in my Tom Bihn bag. I do have my Kindle Touch in a Kindle cover & make sure the screen is not facing any other items in my bag.

For my iPod touch, I've tried both the OtterBox Defender and the Griffin Survivor. My preference is for the Griffin, because the port covers are better designed and it has a removable belt clip that doubles as an angled viewing stand for videos.

My Sony T1 is a really nice ereader. I still find myself reaching for my K3 more often, though. I am eager to see what a 2nd gen Kindle Touch will be like.

Thanks! I'll have to look into that because yes, the port covers are awful but other than that he's dropped it several times, it fell out of a moving truck & almost went for a swim. :O

The Otterbox cases are fabulous! For phones at least, they make 3 different levels of protection. I believe Defender is their strongest level. Impact is lowest & Commuter is mid-level. I don't know about 'bomb' proof but pretty darn good!!

Here's a link to their Kindle page but you can access any other tablet or phone case from links on the left.

Otterbox Kindle Cases

The Otterbox looks really promising - I will give it a shot. Thank you for taking the time to suggest it.

I think we all need to back off a bit. Jon has been making an effort to change how he posts. He was clearly joking in this topic.

To be serious, if you find you are ending up breaking multiple Kindles, maybe a different brand would be a good idea given how you handle the Kindle. If I buy something and it breaks and then get it fixed/replaced/buy another and it breaks then I would give up that brand and find another that won't be breaking.

True but I'd also look in the mirror to figure out what on earth I'm clearly doing wrong that I keep breaking them when others aren't and make darned sure I don't do it again!!
