Also, once you have a registered Kindle device, you can purchase a book using your PC's browser and have it download to the PC. If the book is DRM encumbered it will be configured for the specific device you specify at purchase time. This is an option not visible on their site until you have registered a device, not app, to your account. The downloaded ebook can then be copied to the device over USB on any OS that supports the MASS Storage standard. |

Yes, its a handy app, but currently its Windows only. Users of other OSs (Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, ...) have to resort to conventional email to accomplish this. The OP uses Linux.

No, Amazon released the Mac version of Send to Kindle a few weeks ago. Won't help the OP, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Clearly, English isn't the native language of the poster. There are many people here - myself included - that have English as second or third language.
This is one of THE best places to ask about readers, so, please, let's try to help regardless of the level of knowledge of English. |

(*) - there was Sony Librie, before that, sold only in Japan and that one was totally catastrophic - there was NO WAY for you to load a book, except books officially purchased from Sony. No wonder it was a failure. |

You're perfectly right. And most times this forum is very kind to us non-native speakers. But one thing that makes understanding posts here difficult - especially for us - is the overuse of abbreviations. So I found it okay to give a little hint in this direction. |

that post was in reference to desktop library applications for managing your ebook collection and synching it etc from computer to device. it was not about alternate off device reading applications
