Skydog,

Now you've raised a somewhat different but important issue. As noted above, I've tried nearly a dozen styluses and I'm sure I've tried at least twice that many note taking apps, mainly for the iPad. The best I've found (and its available for both the iPad and the KF) is 7Notes Premium. Its major advantage over any other app I've used is that it has a very good real time handwriting recognition engine that translates my scrawl into readable text.

Having said that, however, there is simply no question that note taking on a glass screen is an acquired skill and requires a LOT of practice. And it's even worse if you're a southpaw who's accustomed to resting the heel of one hand on the paper you're writing on.

Frankly, except for the occasional quick note I don't try using the KF for much note taking. The screen is too small and it took me weeks to accustom myself to writing on the iPad. Just not willing to go through the learning curve again. But if others are, I can only recommend that they treat the experience as they did when they first learned to write at six years of age. It takes awhile to become efficient just as it did the first time.

All your points are valid ones. My experience level with a stylus, while good, is somewhat negated by the software available for my Xoom. This, of course, is another topic entirely but is an important factor in the overall experience of writing on a capacitive screen. I am waiting for the day that a pen-like stylus will be the norm on tablets (similar to those of my Wacom tablets used for image editing).

Very nice design. I have only one concern. Although most of the styluses I've tried work equally well on the iPad and the KF, the exceptions are those with a very small tip, e.g. the Jot Pro from Adonit. The problem is occasional missed strokes, more than occasional, in fact. Frequent enough to make the stylus virtually unusable for writing though it works fine for activating buttons.

A small tip is an obvious advantage but not if it means strokes are missed and have to be redrawn. It's like using an ink pen that is running out of ink.

So I'll wait to see how well it functions on the KF but if it does, it looks like a winner.

has anyone tried a stylus by Ozaki? A friend of mine is using said stylus, and the tip is like a pen. She says it works well enough for her.

Just FYI, the inventory shortage appears to have been resolved at iFaraday. All of the models appear to be available now.

In a recent update I received the dev has responded to an overwhelming number of requests for the option of personal engraving. If he reaches the magic number of $170k in pledges he will invest in the equipment necessary to offer the option. It's getting close and I am confident it will be exceeded. :-)

(and it may even be nicer than the Bamboo)

Sigh. Looks like I'll be pledging a few bones for this. I am going to have enough styli to make a set of gloves and become "Edward Stylushands." But, variety is the spice of life, or something.

Don't feel bad -- just look at the number of styli the developer collected (shown in video) before designing the HAND. I am really looking forward to the 4mm rotating/retractable tip!
