The upcoming 7" IPad might be a compromise

There are couple of threads in PB and Onyx sub-forums here on MR, discussing specifically this comparison.

Even if it comes out in 7" it's still not an e-Ink

I do have both iPad and several 9.7" devices - and their usage is strictly separate - eInks for reading - iPad for emails/games/web - I don't want to spoil my eyesight with a backlit screen, there's pretty enough computers in my life for that))

It's not marketing only - it has something to do with the technical limitations of e-Ink screen - afaik - it's economically and technically appropriate to cut the initial, 'raw' panels of e-Ink into those sizes: either 5", or 6" or 9.7"...

iRex used 8" e-ink screens for quite a while, and they also had a device with a 10.2" screen. Sony had two devices with a 7" e-ink screen. That gives us devices with 5", 6", 7", 8", 9.7" and 10.2" screens. That's a fairly large range.

This is slightly off topic for the thread, but it is what it is...

I'm looking at a replacement for my KindleDX--I need to be able to take notes, preferably hand-written marginalia, on pdfs--and Dulin's Books was a strong potential source, at least of information. I see you (Dulin's Books) here, I see the URL for the store, but when I try to go there I'm told it can't be found...
