wandermaybe, reading non-drm formats is something any device is capable of (although not all kind of formats). What differentiates them is their ability to read books with drm. A big number of readers reads epub-drm and all the Amazon devices read mobi-drm. For legal reasons there is no device that is capable of reading mobi-drm and epub-drm at the same time.

I've never personally encountered a device that uses a piece of cake as a transfer medium; I would have thought that the crumbs would be a problem, not to mention longevity issues for the medium. USB connections or SD cards are more normally encountered.

I like reading on the Libre Color better than on my nonbacklit jetBook. The size of the screen seems close to the size of a page in a paperback book, which is comfortable. I mostly like to read at home in dim light, and with the Libre Color, even set at minimum brightness, I can easily read without a reading light.

Forgive my pedantry, but the Nook in fact supports both B&N and Adobe DRM. It was one of the big selling points for me. (Y'know, before I found out how much I love cabbages and DRM became irrelevant.)@OP: Good luck making up your mind. There are so many to choose from! |
