Unfortunately, it seems many of those 10-15 USD/GBP cases are having this inside material paint problem.
A protective case, even a cheap one, has to minimally protect the device not to damage it.

Have you experienced something like that? Are there any solutions to clean this mess up?

I've had this with some neoprene sleeves about 18 months ago.
It happened with my white (!!) Kindle 2.
Lessons learned:
a.) I've washed all the neoprene sleeves 2 or 3 times and hoped to get rid of the "transferability" (don't know how to phrase it differently).
b.) No kidding: I'm using those neoprene sleeves only for black gadgets, not for white ones.

Unfortunately, I still find those sleeves the best solution for lots of gadgets.
You easily find great covers for iPad or Kindle.
But for no-names or low-runners, such as Spring Design Alex for example, you won't find any customized solution and have to accept the standard ones.

As for the spots: With Kernseife (don't know the English term, kind of a strong and simple soap) I got rid of them without affecting the plastic (in my case, it wasn't the metallic back, but the plastic front).

From what I understand Kernseife is the generic term for soap. Is there a specific product with that name that can be ordered?

The term "Kernseife", as far as I know, has something to do with sodium chloride = depends on the methodology of production.
I've used this one (just tried what I had in the house anyway): http://www.oeko-planet.de/allergiker...fe-versand.php

Thank you.
Unfortunately they don't make deliveries to Romania.
However, I've ordered a black skin from DecalGirl USA and I will give up the case.

My Marware case put red stains on the back of my Kindle Basic. I know they didn't show but they still bothered me. Mr. Monk wouldn't have stood for it either. I broke my Kindle Basic and replaced it and when I used the Marware case now I insert a piece of typing paper between the case and the Kindle.

Got an account just so I could post this.
Toothpaste works like a charm guys. Just got done rubbing my white kindle keyboard down.
Make sure to use a soft cloth, rub the toothpaste on the stains firmly in circular motions. Once you can see its pretty much gone, wet the cloth, wipe off the paste, then dry. Repeat if necessary.
Also this works for foggy headlights on your car just so y'all know.
