I also have a Kobo touch with silicone sleeve. I cut 0.80 mm thick steel little smaller than front of the Kobo touch. Rounded the corners and smoothed edges then taped edges of the steel with plastic electrical tape. I can slip this steel cover between sleeve and the KT to protect screen while in my pocket. It survived a day at amusement park riding all the roller coasters. If I made one for my PRS-T1 i would cut steel screen protector short so it would not push on buttons.

I have 3 different clamp on lights for my 3 different e-readers. Rounded and tapered edges of PRS-T1 prevent solid clamping with some of the lights. Best lights clamp to head with elastic band or are built into reading glasses. Red light is ok and might bother others less while reading in bed.

I'm never in that crowded an area where it could happen. The pockets are more to the side, where my arms naturally cover it, and it's the 350. So between the metal front and a cover, it's safer than in a purse or backpack where things normally press against the sides.
