Second for the Kobo Touch. I really like mine, and you can move the page turn zone around to make it more comfortable for left-hander's, as Terminator described.
With it set up for left-handed forward page turns, you could quite easily just hold it in your left hand. If you set it up for right-handed, with most of the screen take up for the forward page turn going to the right edge, you could access both forward and back page turns with your left hand only. Jaden, from within a book, it only takes me 3 taps to acess the page turn zone settings. Center screen, settings, advanced, there you are. |

![]() By now I mostly change the way I hold the Touch instead of changing the setting. I still hope there will be a "tap anywhere to page forward" setting in the future. |

Swipe for page turning
On the Kobo Touch (1.9.17), I've never changed the default regions, and can turn pages either left- or right-handed. (It doesn't seem to be documented -- I did it instinctively by accident when I first got my KT, and have been using it ever since).
With my left hand, I hold my hand flat, palm towards me, Kobo on my four fingers, with thumb around the left edge and over the screen. A swipe from center to left edge goes forward a page. A swipe from left edge to center goes back a page. With my right hand, reverse the grip, and swipe with my thumb - right edge to centre to go forward, centre to right edge to go back. So with default settings (tap in middle, spanner, Advanced Settings, Page Turning, first choice), a swipe right-to-left with either hand goes forward and left-to-right goes back. If you think about it, that's how you would turn a paper page, too. |

Well, yes... but I mostly hold my books with two hands, especially when turning a page.
But I hold my Kobo with one hand, and I don't want to swipe, I want to tap. That was one thing I liked about the Kobo - or that I still like, but would like better if there was a way to set "tap anywhere to page forward". Also I have to turn pages with my Kobo more frequently than with a book: about 3 times to finish a "regular" page (depends on the book, of course). And books have two pages next to each other, so that's one "swipe" with a book, but 6 on my Kobo. |

As has been stated Kobo Touch page turns can be by taps in certain areas or swipes left or right.
Sony T1 page turns don't use taps only swipes left or right in most areas of screen. Swipe holding at end of swipe continues page turns until finger is lifted. Touch finger with hold on word highlights word, brings up definition at bottom of page and 5 choices near word, highlight, add note, Search, Wikipedia, Google. You can also drag sides of highlighted word to include more words. It also has pinch zoom more useful with PDF than epubs. Can listen to mp3 music you have loaded (with head phones only) but it uses battery a little faster and has clunky 3+ steps to get to volume and other controls. |
