Then, there'd be no point to specials and promotions, if they could bill retroactively. But many large companies DO guarantee shop prices for a specific period after purchase. But, I do understand your angle! ![]() BTW- How much of a profit do you think you'd turn from the 100+ books than decreased in price after purchase? |

This kind of thing happens to me all the time. Even when I try to be resourceful there is always someone who gets the same thing at half the price I paid. I have movies that I paid $15 for, thinking I was getting an amazing deal, only to see them in the 2/$10 bin at the drugstore nowadays.

I used to joke that business people must follow me around and wait until I, personally, bought one at full price as a signal to put something on sale. |

Oh, you poor thing! I can't imagine how that would feel. I suppose I am not used to this, because usually I get all the lucky breaks. Seems I always do well, and catch the sales, and shop around. It's a hobby. But, one must be mindful not to run around chasing pennies!

I find that nowadays I get better deals (on books/movies/music) because I choose to wait. After seeing that the price of stuff "usually" goes down when it's no longer the hot trend that everyone is talking about and people tend to give me stuff they are tired of, or loan it to me, or I use the library, or find it in that proverbial sales bin and realize, oh my I had it on my wish list.

The big picture of the stuff I paid full price for that I later see in the clearance bin, well, I laugh at the irony, but at the time I bought it, it was within my budget. |

![]() I get quite a lot of freebies from Amazon from (unknown to me) authors, some I have really enjoyed and have bought other books from the authors, from 77p upto about £2 many of these books have later been offered for free no complaints though on it, but I dont buy as many now, I usually wait a few months to see if things become free |

I also have read many freebies from authors unknown, and gone on to purchase other books by them, mostly b/c I want to support them, and offer my thanks for the free one I enjoyed. (Joe Hill, being the son of Stephen King, unlikely needs my support! )Maybe if I don't look backwards, I won't see the price drop, and I'll avoid diasppointment! ![]() ![]()
