I would have loved if they had gone with wireless charging, still week is too little for me personaly, and I don't even use a watch....

So... lots of people do... take a look at the net and B&M shops... loads of models available, lots of new models every year... guess there just might be a huge number of people who do still use watches... personally i prefer to just look at my wrist for the time rather than dig in a pocket for my mobile...

Ohh, I realise we are all different but in my circles I only see a watch on older people (I include myself in that group, albeit without a watch) and i don't see younger people wearing watches anymore, could be a Swedish thing though.

Only time I used watch was in mandatory military service(Finland...). No cellphone to carry around and it was quite handy when time was important sometimes...

Or even something larger as your primary phone.

Why wouldn't you just use the tablet for your contacts??

The tablet would be in a case in my cargo pants or in my gym bag when I wasn't reading or websurfing.

The headset and Pebble set up would work well while bycycling or working or just about any activity really. One could almost make a go of it without the Pebble, but voice contro software isn't quite as capable as it needs to be yet.

I wonder what happens if you leave your phone home, or the battery dies. Does the watch still have minimal function, like telling the time?

Wired has a Hands On With Pebble Smartwatch, which describes the E-Paper screen tech:

The Pebble team calls its watch’s display an e-paper display, in order to highlight its readability in direct sunlight. The specific component Pebble uses, however, is Sharp’s 1.26-inch Memory LCD. This screen doesn’t use the anti-reflective e-ink that’s so familiar in Kindle and Nook e-readers. Rather, it’s a reflective display that uses a PNLC (Polymer Networked Liquid Crystal) module for improved brightness, and HR-TFT (high-reflective thin film transistor) technology to add contrast.

One bit of memory is also embedded into every pixel. This makes it possible for each pixel to hold its state without much battery power.
