I know I'm probably a bit strange, but I feel I've had really good value out of it, and it still works fine, so I don't feel right asking for a replacement. I'll buy the latest version once it does go pop.

As others have mentioned, this is not an uncommon flaw in the K3's. I have one K3 that suffered these small hairline cracks at the corner and over time slowly spread outward. Amazon was kind enough to send a replacement which I then returned since the display of my original K3 was far superior to the replacement. It is still working just fine, the hairline cracks are indeed hairline and not really noticeable. If it really is bothersome, I highly recommend DecalGirl for a (matte) skin. They have many plain, carbon and wood simulations in addition to artwork.

I had exactly the same experience (do you want to hear that again?) at around 8-10 months with my K3. As others have said, Amazon sent me a K3, then gave me 30 days to send back the old one.

Update: Called Kindle today and they are sending me out a new one No 3rd degree questioning or anything..


Thanks to the forum for advising me to call I should have my new kindle by Monday
