Thanks for all the advice everyone

You've made my decision easy for me, I'll be getting a Kindle Touch to read my sci-fi eBooks

(My wife has taken over the Kobo Touch) !

I love it. Unfortunately, I read less (that darn Angry Birds). But for reading in bed, it is fabulous! Just switch it to white on black.

I love having my Calibre newspapers and magazines delivered automatically via wi-fi to my Kindle Keyboard (via the ...@free.kindle.com e-mail address). Does this automatic delivery work with the Fire? The Fire seems to be a better device to read/skim newspapers and magazines.

Yes, just put in the email address for your Kindle Fire instead of your KK. Then the pics will be in color!

I think it is a good idea to wait for a while for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 reviews, with the price of around 50 USD difference, I think this Android 4.0 maybe a better choice than Kindle Fire ? I mean, it comes with a better spec, video chat, rear camera with a good resolution, and dated Android OS. What do you think ?

Or maybe wait for the next Amazon tablet and then see.
But as that article says, the refurb pricing (or in my case, sale pricing) makes the Fire a compelling choice IF what it has is what you want.

I've put my previous decision to get a Kindle Touch on hold

We have one e-ink device in the family, the Kobo, don't really need another

Thanks for the link to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 review !

At $A250- or a bit less it's not much dearer than the Kindle Fire and is a different device

It is on sale now, a refurbished one is only 139 USD (only for today and only if you live in U.S.) so sad for me that Fire is not available internationally, with this price, it is one of the best choice for 7 inch Android tablet.
