Subscription to Reader's Digest here would be about 70 bucks I would think. Although in recent years they have had to slash prices to get people to buy, so you can likely get a sale for close to 50 perhaps.

I have been looking at getting the Kindle Economist or Financial Times subscription but they do not come with access to the website. For me, it is not worth it.

i don't understand the purpose of magazines anymore in general. these days any news or anything in them is horribly outdated.

The news magazines have mostly turned to deeper coverage and analysis, not breaking news. I subscribe to Newsweek and still find it valuable -- they call it "the first rough draft of history," which is an interesting context, IMO.

And this has pretty much always been what magazines focused on - even a weekly comes out later than a daily paper, while a monthly is even more out of date.
