I'll keep trying. I'm sad to admit I've spent almost a year and off on this. B/c I'll try for a while, then get tired of beating my head against a wall, then try again.

Maybe if Dopedangel can hang in there with me.....I just don't have any experience with this, so it will take some patience....=)

Well, sort of. I got a pocketbook. That's the conclusion I came to. It supports Arabic out of the gate, rather than rooting. I really appreciate all your help, but the directions required some background knowledge I don't have. I couldn't figure out how to re-write my SD card. I was using my laptop, via my nook, so that could be the problem, but I don't have a separate SD card reader actually.
