Absolutely - definitely get someone else to look at it as a first step. Totally agree with you there.

So Harry, we've established that you need an editor, but should that be expected from an online publisher? As we've seen there is a lot involved in the editing process, so would you expect this service to be given free or should it be at a cost?

I was expecting people to come back with ease of use or something like that, but editing and proof reading seems to be a big concern for many writers.

I think its par for the course that most online publishers will get requests for editing as well as other services. It's up to the publisher whether they want to add this as a service or not. And of course they should charge. Editing a 90,000 word book is not something that can be done for free. At least not with any realistic expectations of quality in the final outcome.

I think the question is more about how much writers would be willing to pay for editing services.
