I just delete the problem book and look for the book from another source.

I used that exact same program.

I just know about Kobo reader, all others are new for me.
I get my PDF's from online parts suppliers, TI, Freescale, Microchip, Maxim, Panasonic, etc... I have been downloading datasheets for well over 6 years. I have a lot of files and I mean a lot. I am not going to upload my files because they are too large to send to start. And the device should at least indicate to me what files will not load in an error log and bypass that file. Mark it in your database even as unreadable. Crippling the device because of one bad ebook or pdf is ridiculous. I have over 16gb of datasheets, and technical briefs that use to work perfectly fine. I would suspect Kobo has been messing around with something in their file handling / DRM mechanism which is causing problems if they are constantly asking users to send in files.

It makes no sense why continuity of reading material was not maintained across upgraded versions of firmware.

Kobo wifi has slow processor and 5 way switch makes reading PDF books and documents very slow and clumsy. Kobo Touch is much better for many books but some really need larger screen and color.

When I was having the same problem your experiencing I would only load 10 book at once then force kobo to update library so it was easy to find book causing the problem.

These programs might help you find what is wrong with a epub and fix it so will work again on your kobo.

My touch is in for repair. I've been waiting for its return. I was having similar problems with it to.

I just read something about file names with apostrophes causing problems. I did attempt to run the epubfixer but it crashed partway through. Either I am the unluckiest guy in the world or I am having some really bad luck with these things.

The 256mg & 1 GB SC Cards are Scan Disk & the 8gb is HP. (I tried more than one size card just in case that was the problem but it is not.)
Yes, I have used the https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/ and used the full overwrite mode.
No, the cards are NOT locked.
I have erased all books and reformatted cards more than once, putting just 1 ePub book on a card that I know can be opened on the reader, if put directly on to the reader.
