Misleading comment from an ebook store in Spain

No, it is a very well known. At least, was heavily promoted on newspaper on my Country. That's how I knew about it as I live and work in USA.

And you are right. I barely read books in Spanish, because I do not like fiction too much. With a few exceptions, and authors from Colombia (and some Nobels) are included there.

No, not really. It's your personal or company identification. Everybody in Spain (older than fourteen), and all the companies, have one.

Yes, I've seen it. It's leer-e, and I think that almost all the books have DRM. If they have DRM, of course, you can't buy mobipocket books there, in the same way I couldn't buy DRM-ed books in Amazon although I had an Opus with mobipocket FW or I still have my Palm E2. There's a mobipocket world out of Kindle DRM

And about conversions and thinks like that.... no DRM store is going to talk to you about them

No, it wouldn't be used in English to refer to someone's language, although we use the expression "Latin American" as a synonym for "South and Central America". It just sounds strange in English to say "I speak Latin", unless you mean the language spoken in ancient Rome.

The thing is, Garcia Marquez (or his publisher) signed an exclusivity agreement with them I think. So if I want a legal version (and arguable, with less errors), this is my only choice.

Anyway ... I just gave up for now. I may take the advice of someone else here who sent the paper book for scanning. Not sure about how legal that could be, but I paid for that version anyway.

It depends on the country. In Spain, it's legal.

It's not an exclusive, as the book is now (finally!) available in Amazon as well.

You can see it if you aren't logged in, go to the Kindle Store and then on the upper left select Your Country or Region as Latin Am. & Caribbean.

Oh, OK. Sorry, I thought you meant that there was a separate Amazon site. Yes, I know that you can set your country to whatever you wish, and it'll show you books available for people in that country.

However, the Kindle version of Gabo's book at Amazon USA, was pulled yesterday, no idea why. It is no longer available. Fortunately, I was able to download and buy.

Yes, I know about the Spanish Kindle store, Jo. I was asking about the Latin American one that someone previously referred to. Apparently they simply meant setting your country to "Latin America" at "amazon.com".
