Were you able to get the books onto your Kobo?
Calibre is great, you can even import notes for sideloaded books with it. |

I'm jealous!
I've always wanted to be on a narrowboat. WHen I was young I used to love going to the canal in Banbury and watching the narrow boats. For many years my parents lived in Shrewsbury and I remember going with them to the aqueduct carrying the Llangollen canal over the Dee |

been to those , love Llangollen especially. been about 5 times. We have been living on it 12 years now , and even though she is 70 foot long , space is always a premium , and I read at least 10 books a week , so the kobo , will be great eventually .Will keep you posted , how I get on . Tomorrow , I will try , power is going off shortly , so cant tonight .

Reading as many books as you do and living on a narrow boat the Kobo Touch is an ideal accessory as space on a narrow boat will always be limited This is how I load eBooks onto my Kobo Touch eReader I connect my Kobo Touch to the computer then open Calibre, after a minute two new icons pop up on the Calibre toolbar One icon (Device) shows me which books I have in the eReader and I can delete books I've read, the other icon (Send to device) loads books I select onto the eReader If the format is not suitable Calibre asks 'Auto convert the following books before uploading to the device ?' then does it all for you in one step ! I have a couple of thousand eBooks in a file on my computer and 'Add Books' to Calibre when I want to put one or two onto the Kobo Hope this is of some help and encouragement There is a learning curve with eReaders as with anything else new, you'll get the hang of it Don't give up, we'd all be disappointed Lots of help here ![]() |

My Kobo touch was antsy after the firmware upgrade I was advised to redo the firmware upgrade and after the second time the Kobo was happy and relaxed To perform a factory reset: 1. Start up your Kobo Touch 2. In main menu, touch "Home" and then "Settings" 3. Touch "Device Information" 4. Touch "Factory reset" NOTE! THIS WILL CLEAR THE DEVICE 5. Device asks confirmation and does its magic for few minutes After the process, you can start the device, and it is just like brand new. It will ask you to connect to computer and run through setup. During the process, device will automatically upgrade to latest firmware again. Thanks to ‘clsdclsd’ for this advice ! Last edited by Quelch; 03-08-2012 at 06:27 PM.
