Oh, the location number absolutely helps! Anybody that I've dealt with (Amazon or publisher/editor/author) have all asked for location numbers with the examples.

Then I stand corrected. They usually get the location number, because I do most of my reading on my Kindle, and it logs the location in the clippings file when I make a highlight. The only time they don't is if I happened to be reading on my phone when I saw the error. Locations aren't shown on kindle.amazon.com
