Mmph.... I've had loads of "sculptures" just like that, but the puppy never got a cent for them........
![]() And, patrickt, "You can't throw it at your husband and expect to do any damage to him. You can't leave it sitting around to impress friends by leading them to believe you actually read the book." ................???? Oh yes you can ...... I'm de living proof. ![]() |

Wow...those are incredible. I just gotta wonder, though, how or when one gets the idea to do something like that. One day, they suddenly say, 'You know what? I have all these books just sitting around. I think I'll make them into sculptures!' I wonder how long it took to work up the skill to carve such detail into the pages. What planning those things must take! The reader in me is appalled to see old books used like that, but the artist in me is fascinated.

I think it would have been nice if there had been ebooks when I was in school. It would not hurt as much when the Nuns hit you over the head with a dictionary.

Apparently the biggest disadvantage to an ebook reader is that you can't avoid pointless comparisons to printed books...

The biggest disadvantage is of course that you can't smell your eBooks. Personally I love to spend an evening having a good sniff at all my paper books.

The only disadvantage I've found is that I couldn't throw 'March' up against the wall.

Actually, that's not so. Both ADE based readers and Kindles allow you to have DRMed eBooks on more then one reader. It's easier to do this with ADE since you don't have to download your books again.

Sorry, I was thinking the Rocket's eBooks were in ePub. Do the eBooks for the Rocket have DRM?
