It was nice getting things so quickly, but the only real advantage was free shipping on those inexpensive gifts. I'd get Prime only if it was cheaper or if Amazon raised the minimum for free standard shipping.
Note: The $25 free shipping is "standard shipping". The Prime free shipping is 2-day shipping, and you can have 1-day shipping for a couple of bucks if you're in a hurry. For me, that 2 day was a critical difference. Even now that we are Canadians, we use Prime all the time to order stuff when we know we're going to be making a trip to the US in the next few days.

For me, the killer aspect of Prime is the video library for children... Granted, I might get that as well with Netflix (I haven't checked).. but the collection of Mister Rogers, Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob the Builder and Sesame Street means that we can usually find something to occupy our two year old when we need to get something done. And since new videos don't start automatically, it forces us to be more deliberate than we might be with TV and thus makes it easier to limit his video watching.

Bill, you will be thrilled with Amazon's new partnership with Viacom, which means lots of Nick shows like Go Diego Go, Blues Clues, and Yo Gabba Gabba have just been added to the Prime free streaming.

As for me, I already get those shows for free on Time Warner On Demand, so no biggie.
