I'm new to this area of fiction. I always read romance but to me romance isn't something you want to hear on a audiobook. I listen to one of the Kitty Norville series on audiobook while back that was okay. I like Cormac in that series. So I am trying to broaden my horizons. Romantic elements are nice but not necessary.
The new Stephen King (11-22-63) is a bit of a departure, it has a strong romantic element to the second half of the book and very little horror. I found it to be an entertaining journey back to the 1960s. It's a great value for your credit, 31 hours long.

Plum doesn't have what I call romance in it. Is has a love triangle but I wouldn't call that romance. She uses two men to get her job done. I love Ranger in the series not for love triangle part but I've always been a gal into superheroes and vigilantes like Batman and X-men comics. You know the tortured hero.

Funny I had the same thought when looking through the sale I like reading a romance but I'm not so sure about listening to one. I prefer something that rockets along for an audio book. Well if it doesn't have to be on sale then the two best audiobooks I've listened to by far are Ready Player one and The Passage.

Thanks for the suggestion. I already read The Passage. Not really my cup of tea though it was interesting for awhile. Not a Stephen King fan either. They are too dark for my tastes. I'm not into Horror I like lighthearted stuff like Cozy mystery and some Urban Fantasy not really into SciFi though I have read some of it in the past.

On sale I enjoyed The Ruins of Gorlan - Ranger's Apprentice by John Flannigan. As for uses of that credit: Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. A really nice long epic fantasy series. Eye of the World is 29.5 hrs long. I have them all waiting for the last in the series coming out this year.

Blossom, you might like First Grave on the Right. I haven't listened to myself, but it is likened to a Stephanie Plum. If you are interested in "regular" mysteries, there are a lot of really good one in this sale. Like you I would rather read romances than listen and I love listening to mysteries. I have listened to and enjoyed: Elizabeth Peters, Laurie King's Beekeeper's Apprentice (I was hesitant because of the idea of Sherlock, but it was very good), Her Royal Spyness by Bowen (frothy and good fun), Maisie Dobbs by Winspear, Still Life by Louise Penney (v. good but very much more the traditional mystery), Faye Kellerman's are always good, but more serious. Anne Perry I think I prefer to read. Catherine Coulter's the Cove. I love Dick Francis and Charles Todd is great too. And one I haven't read, but it has the western element is A Cold Dish by Craig Johnson. I just put that in my cart. You may have read all of the above, but in case not, thought I would mention a few. You gave me so many good ideas on that coupon sale awhile back.

Just bought 8. One of them is a mystery taking place in Wyoming, Open Season by C. J. Box. 3 mysteries, 3 historicals, and 2 scifi. I don't know how I will get through all these books!

Thanks for the recommendations! I own Her Royal Spyness. I got that free months ago so I may have to listen to it. I bought 2 more audible books. 1 Urban Fantasy and 1 Paranormal Romance but it was special edition so I thought why not.
So now I am done. I can get the others at my library like the Dresden Files.

I've decided I am going to pay another month on my membership so I will have 2 free credits in case I find something else.

I got stuck on book 3 of Catherine Coulter's FBI series. I will someday pick it back up.

As for Blossom's credit maybe you'd like 'The Winter Sea' or 'The Rose Garden' by Susanna Kearsley.

Try the link above also if you just go to www.audible.com there should be a banner linking to the sale at the top of the page. That's assuming you are in the US store as I'm not sure if other regions are having the sale

I love James Marsters! I have listened to all the Dresden Files--I started with getting the audible books from my library, but for some reason they don't have 6-9. So I broke down and got a membership at Audible.com. I am now on #8.
