I typed it wrong and edited it back to 30 seconds three times.

You are correct. It sounds like a hardware problem.

New user here. I've got a similar problem with my kindle 3g and the problems started also a little after the 3.3 update. Right the unit is useless since I can't navigate the collections (already made the "hardboot", the factory reset, and even open it up to check if the keyboard was stuck) Is there any way to reflash the firmware update?

Yes. There is a YouTube video from seaniko7, showing how to "unbrick" a kindle 3 using the serial port. Details are provided in the Kindle Developer's Corner forum. Use the Dev Corner master index sticky. Look in the Tools Index, and the K3 Index. If you do not have your own backup copy of your kindle firmware image, you can request a K3 firmware image in the Dev Corner forum, and somebody may PM you a link. Firmware images cannot be directly linked from the forum for legal reasons.

Perhaps this thread should be moved to the Dev Corner forum, to prevent such warnings being posted to this thread, which requires technical details to provide answers.
