If makes this VERY quiet hiss noise every time I do a page turn, but I have to have my ear right up against the KT to hear it.
That's what I meant, I should have said to flip the page.

Thanks for the visual

Mine is also in a cover, but I took it out for the test and still didn't hear anything.
So the only way I'm going to hear it is if I press it against me ear, so it's a non-issue for me..

My son, who's 11 (and most likely has better hearing) also uses my ereader, I'll ask him if her hears anything, I'm curious now...

I took mine out of its cover and tried turning pages back and forth and couldn't hear anything at all. Could be my antique hearing apparatus, but if there is a sound it must be pretty faint.

I know I have a rather acute sense of hearing - I hear my TV "hiss" in standbye, I could always perceive my PDA "humming" when reading in bed... I hear a lot of sounds other people don't hear.

But until now I hadn't realized the Kobo was making a sound when turning the pages, which it actually does. The sound is very soft, though, so it has to be really quiet in order to hear it - or I have to press my ear to the back of the Kobo.

Kind of reminds me of the sound of a page turning mixed with white noise. Very appropriate for an eReader in my ears.
