I had to edit "Kate's Movie Star" when I realize that I had written about a magic trick where a boy was going to "pull a rabbit out of a house."

I don't know about it being the "best" typo, but my most embarrasing typo (and one which could have landed me in serious hot water) was when, after borrowing some programming reference books from a lady I work with, I sent her an e-mail in which I thanked her for letting me see her books... and mistyped the "k" in "books" as a "b".

Fortunately she saw the funny side of it, or I could have been in big trouble .

My mind must have been on other things as I was typing the e-mail. Never a good idea.

I did something similar at work once. I typed up the entire quote, the sales proposal, and the after-the-buy service offer. And then I replaced the "g" in "Best Regards" at the end of my email, with a "t".

Thankfully, I'd been working with that customer for long enough he took it as a joke and laughed it off...

When I was working in a catering business years ago, I had to bill large numbers of customers for meals and refreshments. I was working fast one day, and sent out over two dozen bills for "Bra and sinner".

Or you could expand the whole thing - "Those? Oh, they belong to the people standing just over there."

In an email to a prospective employer, I accidentally typed, "I look forward to heaving from you." Possibly a little truth coming out there?

I did catch it before sending the email.

Along the lines of HarryT's story above, I had a neighbor who worked in city codes department. With great hilarity she one day recounted a story about sending out an e-mail to a resident regarding some construction on his property. The moment before she hit "send" she noticed a typo (an "i" instead of an "e") in the subject line of the message, which was supposed to read "Regarding the size of your deck."

Sometimes typos make cool new words. I typed "increduloudly" last month.
