I can't help thinking that there seems to be quality control problems with some batteries, 'cos generally the T1 has a very good power life.

Any battery specialists out there ?
Yeah, it's quite complex issues. A few full cycles help the software to recalibrate. But it can hurt the Li-Ion cells. It realy is question if problem is with software and device or with battery. I do have feeling Android can do strange things sometimes...

Few things to remember is to leave device at 40% and shut down if not used for longer period. Also keeping it in charger when not needed is bad.

The 40% is a good idea, 'cos it'll (or rather should ) hold that for a while - 3/4 weeks I know - and the charger tip yes, quite - but that doesn't mean an overnight spell, for example.

I know that the wiki is pretty much cluttered right now, but there's valuable info regarding batteries:

That is very puzzling though, as Sony states very explicitly in the manual

If you turn off the Reader by tapping [Settings] [Device Shutdown] while in charging mode, the Reader will stop charging.
Also the wiki entry says "Power off and let the unit charge over night". This is not possible (did you try it?). When the reader is shut down and you connect the USB cable, it powers itself on automatically.

Mind you that keeping a lithium-ion battery at a very low charge over night, without recharging taking place, is a fool proof way to seriously damage it.

Did anyone here have a positive experience with (any more plausible version of) the method described in the wiki?
