Love it

Love mine. Annoyed by the Sleep of death as it makes handling my Kobo difficult on my commute to and from work. Apart from that I love it.

Love the screen - really good for comics and movies/TV. kids love angry birds (might need a second one!!)

Love it for magazines (just got a REPS yearly sub for $15), Netflix, Gmail, overdrive, pdf, hell yea. If they made a 10 inch one, I'd get it as well.

Also happy

Like most on this thread, I really like my Vox. Favorite thing is all the reading apps. In addition to Kobo and epub, I have the Kindle and Sony apps for reading those books. I also watch movies, listen to music/audiobooks, and play simple games on it. I haven't rooted it yet, am holding off for the moment because it's doing everything I need it too and I don't want to risk pooching it

I like my Vox quite a bit. The 7 inch format is exactly what I wanted, although I did not know what I 'wanted' when I bought it. It feels like a book in your hands, you can hold it most comfortably in either portrait, or landscape, and can even use your thumbs to enter data to the virtual keyboard.

One 10.1 inch user at work stated that I have to double-tap or thumb-forefinger pinch my fonts larger to read Web pages, whilst he does not. Well, yes I do...but that has been no impediment to enjoying the other great benefits of the 7 inch format, not to mention how easy it is to take aboard all forms of transportation!

Yes, with the bugs finally eliminated, the Vox is a keeper for sure!

One of the bugs (scratch, scratch.....) is that if I call up the middle tap menu, with the Table of Contents, (i)nformation etc..and attempt to use any of them in the top right hand corner of the screen, I get an immediate crash and closing of the Kobo reader app...and drop to the desktop.

If I have Wifi enabled, the menu calls will sometimes work without CTD. Without Wifi enabled, I have a CTD each and every time. I have no idea what the connection to the having the Wifi radio on or off has to do with this part of the firmware, but in my case, it apparently does. Go figure!

So, with the latest update, i do have some issues. I have not rooted the Vox, and all my updates have been 'successful'.

Are you affected by sleep of death? This is an outstanding critical bug which as far as I can tell affects the majority of vox owners.

I am also happy with my Vox. I purchased mine the last week of November and with the help of the kind people in this forum I have set it up exactly how I like it. It is really a great little ereader as well as gaming (not major games of course) and movies. I have set up my extsd and am now even happier than ever with it.

No S.O.D....just that not being able to use the center-tap menu. I can bring back my book from the sleep state, but...I also have always used the locking screen. It comes from a sleep state to the lock-unlock screen, whereby I enter my password and it opens up to the Desktop or Reader.

If you have the S.O.D., then try enabling the lock screen with your own password..and carry on from there. I think there are some sequences of usage that is clearly showing up an instability in the latest build. I hope that Kobo gets all these cleaned up in the next hinted-at release.

I don't use the default lockscreen, I use widgetlocker but I had sleep of death even before that so...

I think the firmware could be a little skewed. Try using the firmware lock screen and see if that alleviates the S.O.D. for you. I can't comment on any other.

I got my Vox in November and have enjoyed it. Our library put on a little class about ereaders and then helped me set my Vox so that I could read library books as well. Our library does not use overdrive but since it was set up at the library works great. Still like my touch as well and use both.

Since I am not very tech savvy I have not done other things like rooting and downloading of different apps.

I like my Vox but do wish the "sleep of death" would be fixed. It's a pain to put it into standby mode only to have to fully restart it anyway. Interesting thing though: my battery life is not impacted. hmm..wonder if it is an auto shut off setting instead?

I got my Vox for Christmas mainly for use as an ereader and am more than happy with it

It works very well for reading on it
I have my gMail setup as exchange so I can check emails and my calendar when I want to
I also have Overdrive installed so can easily rent library books

Great device for me and definitely glad I got it

Who else is happy with it?
Generally happy but dearly wish it was ADE compatible.

It is if you use the Aldiko app. In the settings you can add your ADE username and password and load & read DRM'd books on the Vox.
