What is wrong? The real resolution is 800 x 600 on Color, because each color point use 2x2 pixels (16 colors presentation does not come for free, so instead of 1600 by 1200 you get only 800x600). You could not compare pictures made in different conditions, it just fouled you ))

No, the Triton use one of 3 pixel (apart White because it is used to regulate the intensity) of sub pixel RGB only in the case you have a pixel full Red or full Green or full Blue.
Well you have 3 possibile case on 4096 (the maximun amount of colors possibile). Then the probability of that is 3*100/4096=0.073% In the other cases more than two pixel of 4 are use to show the color image and the total resolution cames very near to 1200x1600. In case of B/W Triton uses all of 4 pixel and the resolution is definitely full 1200x1600. You can find details on this topic in this forum (I don't remeber where exactly, try to find them) Last edited by mod186k1; 03-02-2012 at 12:03 PM. |

Read carefully this: http://www.eink.com/sell_sheets/eink_brochure.pdf
For black-and-white it is 1600x1200. For color the color filter is applied and each color pixel is a combination of 4 sub pixels. So it is 800x600 in color mode. That's it. |

And there is a lot more. If you take a full 1200x1600 page with chars colored dark blue with fonts size completely illeggible on 600x800 device, you would see that JBC will show you a perfectly readable output (even the part with colors).
For example the file I have attached Last edited by mod186k1; 03-03-2012 at 08:02 PM. |
