And I really didn't mess with it, it was there by default. |

I double checked ... even on the command line using ls -A (the unix/linux command which shows even hidden files) I cannot see any files neither in ReaderDesktop nor in ReaderDesktop/ticket.

So I tried to delete today the books.db from the T1 and the T1 happily created a new one.
I uninstalled the Mac Reader App and reinstalled it, but basically it brought back everything. It must save somewhere all the book metadata etc. I tried for a long time to find out where this is saved, but without luck. Then I tried to sync the T1 content. I had one book on there without highlights. On the Mac was the same books with highlights. I went back to the T1 if the highlights were there. And indeed they were: again duplicated (2 times the same highlight this time). If I cannot locate the book metadata on my Mac I think there is no way to solve the problem. I find myself spending hours solving a problem which were caused by the Reader app ... instead of actually reading my books. All I want is to read my books on the T1 when I am out, come home, sync everything with my Mac app so that I can see the highlights on my Mac. Then I can study again / repeat reading the important bits of my books/reference on my Mac. |

I used the Sony software initially but then it stopped recognising the Reader so I swapped to Calibre and I've not looked back. (I use Adobe Digital Editions to download DRM'ed ePubs and them simply add them to the Calibre Library. I've never tried to transfer notes or highlights).
I've never had a problem with Calibre - I do wonder how is it that one-man operation can produce software that supports a whole range of software while Sony can't produce software that reliably recognises its own hardware. Maybe they should pay Kovid Goyal to fix their software? Last edited by andym; 01-17-2012 at 04:19 PM. |

Yes, I am wondering as well how Sony cannot release a properly working software. It's not just the annotation problem, there are many more with this new app. At least the old Reader Library app was working fine without any problems.
I really would like to start using Calibre as well, but it doesn't support annotations yet. |
