If the Kindle Touch was as picky about which light it was operating in as my PRS-T1, then they would have a huge number of returns, especially the ones without backup buttons.

I'm starting to think that there is something wrong with my particular reader. It works fine in daylight and fluorescent light, but with most other light sources it is a pain to use.

I should not have to resort to the buttons half the time when I'm using a touch screen device.

The reader is so much better since the fix, I really can live with the occasional double page flip. And to my mind I think its something that may well be resolved in future upgrades to the software.
But in order for Sony to do this firmware upgrade, they have to know of the problem. So call them and let them know.

I had a strange one yesterday. I was reading and up to about page 170, then when I turned the page over it shot back to about page 50. I am not greatly concerned about it but was wondering if this is the sort of glitch you get with eReaders?.

I encountered that one last week. As I said above, I've also had it jump right back to the beginning of the book before on a couple of occasions.

Yes, you did mention it before. It looks like it may be a bug in the T1, but it doesn't happen often so I can live with it. I wonder if you used the button to turn pages would it happen. This probably happens with other touch screens also.

It happened with 1 book, which I've now finished. Now I'm 1500 pages into a 3200 page long book and it hasn't happened at all. Been using both page turning methods. I'm inclined towards a formatting error in the book being the cause, but I could be wrong, of course.

I normally read adapted PDFs and I am finding that, sometimes, pages go missing. It is similar to that multiple page turn you comment on, only with the difference that, when you go back, the skipped page is just not there. Page numbers remain correlative and the total doesn't change either, but there is a page missing. You go to menu and return to the book and you recover the page. This is happening with the latest firm, but happened with the original too. Not that it happens often.

Edit - Just to let you know this was an issue with my T1. I've had it replaced and the new one works perfectly fine under any light conditions.
