My Sony 650 runs faster with fewer books. I do not have the time to determine what the limit is for best performance, so I try to keep the set on hand to less than 30. As I average one book per week, thirty is plenty - I only carry that many as I never know what I'll want to read next.

yes, i've got about 2 gigs worth on my kindle. they make it run like molasses but i like having all my stuff where i can see it.

Yes, I do. Both my iPad and my Kindle fire are able to handle the 1500+ with no problem. The key is using a reading app that has a method of grouping the books together and searching. iBooks on the iPad works ok in that respect as does Aldiko on the fire. I'm still looking for the equivalent of Calibre on my iPad and fire though.

No. I do delete periodically from device. Though I do have them on my computer & at calibre.

I keep about half of my books on my Kindle. I don't need them all with me.

The computer is my Backup and a place to edit (errors make me twitchy also)

No... it takes too long if I want to search for something (learned that from my first Kindle), but right now I am up to 22 pages. I guess those are my "really want to read" titles.

I have all of mine on my Nook Color. I like to reread my books and having them all on my reader makes it convenient. I also have them all on my computer and backed up to a backup drive.

With as many devices as I own, I'm not going to put every book on every device. I do keep all of them in Calibre.

I keep my main library on my desktop and have it backed up via Crashplan.

On my tablet I keep a bunch of new books and some favourites I like to reread.

Yes. Always, all books, on the 950. My Libre Pro only has 100 books on it right now, and it's so very weird to be able to scroll through the whole list of saved books on it and have it actually be manageable. Odd.
