I had 1 romance and a large amount of childrens books as recommended,

removed all these and now have about 5 books which are books I am interested in

Not had my kt long and my reading list seems to be based on me browsing the category lists as i am now getting a lot of religeous recommendations and that was the last category i was in.

@d.culloch, you could be right there, I was doing some general browsing around earlier this week which might have messed things up, would prefer recommendations on books downloaded, and not browsed, have just opened the mills & boon section, see if I get a lot of romance recommendations now

@beautifulsoap, oops, not seen them myself, just reading that it had been fixed

At first my recommendations were wonderful and ones that I actually wanted to read. Lately they have been way off. Not sure what happened.

Mine too, and the recommendations are now way off. The accuracy had been improving, but now it is just silly. I have gone through and marked all of them as "not interested" and will continue to do so until they fix the recommendation system.

How often do the recommendations update? I went through mine, and now I've not seen new ones for two days.

mine only update about once a week or so, not very often

As per my test above of opening up the mills & boon section, I have just had a recommendation email about mills and boon books

currently recommendations are pointless for me, they need to look at what I download, not what I browse at

is this recommendation system supposed to be some kind of joke

just noticed mine has refreshed and is now full of religious/kids books, of which I have never purchased or downloaded previews

I suppose its variety to check through, last time it was all romance

Since I buy books for all three of the family Kobo's on the one account I pretty much ignore the recommended list. I'm a Sci-Fi fan, the wife reads things like Tuesday's with Morrie, and my 13 yr. old daughter likes the Gallagher Girls series. That sort of gives the recommendation system a digital aneurysm.

I find that the recomendations are pretty much in line with my tastes but the recent batch was way off (and several weren't even in english, which being from Newfoundland I barely speak as it is ). I had a bunch that were religious in nature and some were romance novels. I've downloaded sci-fi and historical fiction (and one western) so I'm not sure how they got these recommended reads for me.
