I did see that section, but "obscene, offensive, pornographic or sexually explicit material" doesn't mean you can't have a sex scene. Worded like that it seems they wanted to preclude erotica submissions. Of course, I have no idea what your book is like, so maybe you're closer to that side. I wouldn't let that clause stop me from submitting a book with any sex in it at all, though.

What it says to me is that they can ax any level of sex they deem unacceptable. So if nigel p bird's book has any degree of sex in it, its at risk of rejection. That probably should not stop him from trying, as there is no penalty for rejection.

I can't imagine anyone running an open submission and not having a rejection clause like that, it is just common sense, surely?
