If you go to Device Manager in Windows, are there any unrecognized devices listed?

Does the PC beep in any manner when you do connect / disconnect the Kobo?

Do you have any other devices that use the same mini USB connector as the WiFi Kobo does? If so, try using their cable.

You are too funny! But guess what I think I did it. I actually went to the kobobooks.com/desktops and there was an option to download so that is just what I did and I hope it will work!!
