Well it looks rather pointless for me to add some sort of password on my Kindle. So I shan't.

I think I'd delete a password after 5 minutes already... Too annoying as I often read in 5 minute breaks... Even the lock screens can be annoying!

Don't know how the Kindle is, but instead of a password my Sony readers have 4-digit PINs. Doesn't slow me down enough to matter.

I didn't even know it was possible to password-protect the Sony reader. I agree it would be very annoying to have to type in a PIN every time. I can see it for purchases, but my Sony has no internet connection, so you can't purchase on the device. I don't think anyone is really interested in stealing it, but if they did, I hope the thief would applaud my excellent taste in books.

I password protect the e-reader I take to work. I've got a co-worker that likes to check out anything I leave sitting out on my tool chest or work station. It's not that I think he would take my personal information, it's more like I'm worried that he might mistakenly delete whatever I'm reading.

Hmmm didn't know that about the 4 digit pins (just looked it up. yep you can do that, but you'd best not forget your pin because if you have to get it unlocked by sony support, you lose all content) Lately I have been having to type in my e-mail & password to get to the store. But I usually hit skip. For some reason the time keeps resetting to an hour later. And it is set for CST.

A week is quite a long time. This just seems like an odd policy, fast readers could finish multiple books in a week. I guess they notice if you are constantly returning books to them.
