silly or not, I have decided never to give a dime to Sony unless I really have to. The reason is their general we-will-screw-up-our-customer-whenever-we-see-fit attitude (cd rootkits, psn hacking handling, dropping of other os support for ps3 to name a few cases). Quote:

Regarding the touch interface, it seems to come down to a matter of personal preference.
I have a Kindle Keyboard, and I notice that most people with no experience pick it up and start swiping at the screen. They expect touch. Touchscreens are intuitive. Many people love their touchscreen eReaders and wouldn't have them any other way. Others prefer non-touch screens. They like turning pages with actual buttons (some touchscreen readers have buttons as well, others don't). They like using a physical keyboard for entering text. Or they have fears--fears that they may accidentally turn pages by touching the screen, they may smudge the screen in an unsightly fashion with their grubby little fingers, or their touchscreen may become uncalibrated or buggy. I admit to having a couple of those fears. |

It's perhaps worth noting that the infra-red touch screens used on virtually all modern reading devices, including the Kindle, don't require calibration. Speaking personally, I've never accidentally turned the page on my Kindle Touch; something which I can't say about my Kindle 3, where I've often inadvertently turned the page while picking it up

Allright guys, thank you for your thoughts. I am going to hit the Wallmart and try the Kindle touch hands on and probably buy it.

There are numerous DRM-free books at Amazon. It's entirely the choice of the publisher as to whether or not a book sold at Amazon has DRM. Amazon certainly don't insist on it.

Why do you think that 9.7" PocketBook 902 is overpriced?

Folks who come from Eastern Europe very often bring back PocketBooks or Onyxes to their homelands
