I have no idea if you invoked a reset, or not. I have never had to sign into my account again without one. However, if you sign out of the desktop app, you will need to sign in again and download all of your books once more into there.

My books are all still on my device and desktop and I was able to sync a sample book so I am going to ignore the instructions to reregister - unless there is a problem.
