Having worked in the Electronics department at Target, I can assure you that they do not get proper training on any of the devices there. Luckily, I knew a lot about electronics and was able to provide decent customer service. If you get in good with vendors, you might learn a little more about the products, but again, there is no kind of training whatsoever. I'm willing to bet that it is that way at BB also. I'm miffed about the way they are positioning the T1 there. Almost like they have some kind of side deal with B&N and Amazon. At my local BB, it's mainly IPads that they are pushing and pushing hard.

I almost forgot - at Target the saying is "Can I help you find something?" That drive that into employees until you are blue in the face.

Then it took him 10 minutes to find one. Finally had to get a manager who went right to it. Seems the box was so narrow & didn't look like any of the other reader boxes.

I guess since they only had 2 in the store it was just as well they didn't work. Not good the week before Christmas.
Best Buy (and Frys) are really bad about readers. They don't know one from the other and I seem to recall when I got the 650 a year ago there were none out on display at Frys (Only the 600s at the time. He tried to tell me they were exactly the same when I knew they weren't). I asked the guy if he could open one of the boxes (because 1) I wanted to see the display in action and 2) I wanted to know if my old power cable from the previous reader would work). He had to get his supervisor's permission to open up a box. I had to swear on a stack of bibles practically that I would buy it if I liked it. (I was ready to spend money on it that day). Finally he opened it and it was charged up enough I could see the display. I stared at the guy and said, "You've sold me a reader."

It really shouldn't be that hard to get a blasted ebook reader!
