Thank you to everyone who replied. I did the long hold of power button then short press and it worked. I can breathe again. So glad to know people are around if I have problems. Battery doesn't seem to last long, but I can live with that.

![]() What you experienced is the sleep-of-death. It is a known bug and it seems to be one of the top priority for the Kobo team to fix on their next firmware update (which I saw might be before Christmas). If you're like many of us, this could happen every time it goes to sleep. You can mostly avoid it by turning your Wifi on to Never sleep (you can find the instructions to do this in a few other threads about this issue). This is a great option for around the house when you can charge whenever because this will suck your battery down. Other people just turn their Vox off between uses if they know it will be a long time between usage to avoid sleep of death. There are some ways to better your battery life (Airplane mode, Wifi-off-when-sleeping... both of which will give you the sleep-of-death for now; removing some key widgets and apps). I bet if the sleep of death issue is fixed we'll all have better battery life because we won't be keeping our wifi on all the time! |
