Not necessarily the case. Unless they're not supposed to be there, mine are the same. Aside from the showing that I do have the update.

It's only just started to hate me..

Mine has been frustrating since the update. My dh has been shutting down instead of sleep because it was draining the battery every time whether or not wifi was on. But it wonèt turn on half the time now. Just frustrating.

Joey--sounds like you made a good decision--for you. I'm betting it would have been seen adequately if you had just posted it here

I woke up this morning at 12AM and looked outside, quickly realising that it was not 12AM.

The Vox's clock read 12AM when I powered it up. This seems like a bad sign.

Yeah, that happened to me as well - it froze up on wake up. Hoping they fix that soon, as it's made my unit pretty unusable unless I keep it powered fully off.makes me glad I've told other people who've looked at it to hold off a few months... especially as otherwise we'd probably be seeing even more complaints.

For the first time in two days it woke without freezing.. I but the time was wrong. I can live with that, so long as it stops freezing 100% of the time waking from sleep.

Be sure to reset the time. All sorts of things go wonky when it is wrong.

I set the time to automatically sync in case it happens again. Turning things on to see 12AM isn't good for the heart - I always jump to conclusions and think that the interior battery has died.

yeah, i had it to set automatically and it'd turned that off... but all my problems has disappeared.. hasnt frozen once all day. o.o set back to automatically set and hasnt change from right time again.

....well, I have the first software glitch that has arrived this morning when first having turned on the Vox. Before this, I had not had any out-of-turn events. This morning, when I was using the Library, and was moving my finger tip up and down to advance my view...the Library closed and dumped me to the desktop. It did this four times in a row, after I, each time,...went back to the Library app and tried to scroll with my finger-drag movements. Before this morning, (and with the exact same gestures on the screen) it has never displayed this action.

...so Kobo's too-soon-for-prime-time Beta shipped software has bit me in the behind as well. Funny, in that I was doing nothing out of the ordinary that I have not done to date for my M. O.

So...is the present Push build flaky beyond hope? Does the software's coding adulterate with each power-down, until a function or app goes 'south' over time, since original purchase? I guess that the User has to decide that....

Bummer....

It seems largely random to me. Sometimes I'll gain a few bugs when I power the Vox up, other times restarting it makes it work perfectly for a while. I'm happy to stick around until it's fixed since I think the Vox has potential, but I have to admit my patience has its limits.

Yes, I hear you. From following these posts, it's apparent that we all so dearly want to really love our Voxes. But, with each passing day and each newly reported problem, it's becoming increasingly difficult. When will it become too much? I don't know but I'm thinking that if Santa brings a gazillion defective Voxes on Christmas Day, Kobo just might not survive the fall out.

lol, thx taming... got my knuckles rapped for "spamming" (not in a polite "hey, new to the site please don't duplicate" sort of way either) and I participate in a lot of forums... never had that happen before. Anyway, I decided after much consideration, that i would exchange instead of returning my unit since I really did enjoy it. I got it for $179 so I figure one more chance couldn't hurt.

Well, at first I was extremely bitter when it took SIX attempts to install the update! After multiple attempts and various errors (image error 3 times, unable to restart error 5 times) I was packing everything back up for a refund. Then for some unknown reason - install went through.

So I set my WIFI sleep to "Never", downloaded overdrive, app-killer (from default app shop), adobe reader, flash, and a few free books just to test. This time I decided to not install my SD card since people seem to have experienced issues with mounting/unmounting errors.

So far, so good! Two days of 12+ hours sleep and no death sleep as of yet. Also, overdrive library as well as kobo books are working fine along with pretty good WIFI stability and video. No major app crashes either but I haven't worked it out too much. Fingers Crossed!

Any advice to maintain stability, please keep it coming

Joey__I am pretty sure that the stability fixes will be through an update, not though anything we may do. Some folks have found that one thing or another works on their particular device, but it doesn't appear that anything is really generalizable.
